Local, college radio station is back to in-person programming and asking for your support
CLEVELAND, Ohio (March 21, 2022)— WRUW-FM 91.1 Cleveland will host their annual
Telethon, an online and in-person phone-banking fundraiser, from the station’s studios on the
campus of Case Western Reserve University. Celebrating their 55th anniversary on February 26,
2022, this year marks a triumphant return to in-person programming, bringing live music,
remotely broadcast community events, and new content to our dedicated listeners.
WRUW offers eclectic and diverse programming to the Greater Cleveland community over the
airwaves and around the world through online streaming. The pledge drive runs for one week
beginning Monday, March 21 at 12 a.m. through Sunday, March 27 at 11:59 p.m. Listeners will
have a chance to call into the station’s 100 freeform programs and pledge their support to their
favorite shows. Donations can be called into 216-368-2208 until Sunday, March 27 at 10 p.m.
and will be accepted online at telethon.wruw.org after the end of the designated Telethon week.
New to the fundraiser this year, supporters can now contribute to WRUW’s very own
endowment fund to ensure operations for decades to come. This money will accrue interest,
building on donations received during this one week per year.
Returning this year is the 2 nd Annual Telethon Pick-up Party! Donors will be invited to the “Thank
You” party on Saturday, April 23 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. located at The Jolly Scholar (11111
Euclid Ave.) where they can pick up their thank-you gifts, meet WRUW DJs, and partake in free
appetizers and refreshments. If you cannot make the pick-up party, your premium will be mailed
to you as per usual.
WRUW-FM looks forward to connecting with listeners this week and at the Telethon Pick-up
Party. Donate today to help WRUW-FM reach their goal of $91.1K! (See what we did there?)
Donations can be given online at the WRUW website.
