WRUW is now accepting submissions from local and regional bands and musicians who wish to play the 34th annual Studio-A-Rama to be held in early September 2015. The deadline to submit has been extended to July 19, 2015. Seven to nine bands will be chosen to share the stage with a national headliner. Recent headliners have included Bleached, Tacocat, Mikal Cronin, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Black Angels, Mission of Burma, Guided By Voices, the Upper Crust, and the New Bomb Turks.
To be eligible to play this year’s festival, bands must not have played Studio-A-Rama in the past 4 years. All types of music will be considered, and musicians that have submitted in the past but weren’t chosen to play are encouraged to submit once again.
Interested bands can submit by sending a sampler of at least 3 songs, a band bio including line-up, a band photo, website, and contact information to WRUW-FM, Attention: Studio-A-Rama, 11220 Bellflower Road, Cleveland OH 44106. Electronic submissions are also welcome and can be emailed to [email protected]. All submissions become the property of WRUW. Questions can be sent via e-mail to [email protected] or www.facebook.com/wruwfm.
Studio-A-Rama is WRUW’s annual FREE, outdoor, day-long concert, and it’s a great opportunity for local and regional bands to showcase their talent and have their music heard. This year’s show will take place on a Saturday in early to mid-September, just outside the WRUW studios on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. WRUW is proud to simulcast Studio-A-Rama over its 15,000-watt air signal, as well as on the internet at www.wruw.org.
