To all WRUW listeners:
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world right now, WRUW has been trying to bring comfort and normalcy to the airwaves by not going off the air. Today we are shifting our operations to make it easier to keep our community safe from the virus:
Starting today, **we have decided to temporarily cease our in-person broadcasting from Mather Memorial until further notice.** This decision was not easy to make. With this unprecedented situation on our hands, we needed to ensure the safety of our programmers was not being put in jeopardy by keeping up with normal station operations.
The good news is that WE’RE NOT GOING SILENT. We will be using automation to play music from our digital library, still bringing the sound of WRUW to the airwaves. Right now those playlists are random, but we are working towards playing custom playlists made by the WRUW programmers you know and love in the days to come. Our programmers with access to at-home recording equipment will have the opportunity to remotely record their shows to play at the the regular time slot. We will keep our social media updated with any changes to these plans.
WRUW is doing everything we can to keep our programmers safe while trying to provide the sounds our listeners love to hear. We hope everyone in the community is staying sane and safe.
From all of us at WRUW-FM 91.1 Cleveland
