New Dylan Bootleg Series & Yusuf/Cat Stevens Interview

Coming up on Tuesday, November 4, Charlie Saber will be featuring tracks from the new Bob Dylan album Bootleg Series Volume 11: The Basement Tapes. Also on Charlie's Rock & Country Casserole, November 4 will be an interview with Yusuf (Cat Stevens). Yusuf will be discussing his new album Tell 'Em I'm Gone.

The Basement Tapes have existed in many different versions - from bootlegs to an official release in 1975. Here they are for the first time, raw, original, untouched, with no overdubs - sounding as close as possible to the 1967 sessions. You will be hearing previously unreleased, rare alternate takes, and restored masters.

Yusuf's (formerly known as Cat Stevens) new album Tell 'Em I'm Gone was released October 28th and features musical contributions from Richard Thompson, blues harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite, singer-songwriter Bonnie ‘Prince' Billy, Tuareg group Tinariwen, and guitarist Matt Sweeney, as well as production from Rick Rubin.

Yusuf returns to the roots of his teenage musical inspiration: American blues and soul. In this interview, Yusuf talks about what freedom means to him, his musical influences, and collaborating with other artists to create the album.
